The Temperature Option accessory allows you to monitor body temperature of an animal during any time that other MouseOx measurements are being made. This temperature module comes with the following: a Body Temperature Software and 1 Rectal Temperature Sensor, with 1,8m cable.
You just need to connect the temperature sensor to the port in front of the MouseOx control unit. The measurement end of the probe can be used as a rectal thermometer, but also in other locations. Once the sensor has been placed, you are ready to make measurements.
The Temperature window can be accessed from the "View Temperature Window" button on the computer screen.
The temperature sensor is tiny in order to minimize potential trauma to the animal, both rat and mouse.
Temperature measurement is functional even on awake animals.
